Greatness 27/10/07

I think that, if you give people a space for greatness, that they'll seize the opportunity. I don't think that people are inherently evil. Yes, i believe we have a great potential for evil, but i don't believe we're inherently evil.

Create a space where greatness can live, and it will. Build it, and they will come.

(thanks, sb, for the conversation that generated this)

i so agree with you on this, daay.
i simply refuse to believe that people are inherently evil. i have been accused of being eternally optimistic, of having stars in my eyes, and of being a big pollyanna, but i couldn't honestly care less.
i have no real philosophic or religious justification for my beliefs on this one, but i still hold onto them steadfastedly.
and i like that phrase, "create a space where greatness can live, and it will."

And build that space for yourself too.

Opportunity can mean so much, and can for some come so rarely, that its beholden on us to grab it when it comes, or as you put it so much more succinctly than I ever could, allow others the space in which to be great.

I'm smiling the sort of smile that warms a person - thanks for that
